VANDALISM
Since early this year the Portsmouth Police Department has investigated several reports of vandalism. The perpetrators are either spray painting or using permanent markers to put graffiti on both private and public property located throughout the City. Police have made some arrests and the subjects responsible for the crimes have been ordered by the Courts to pay for the cost of cleaning up the damage. Even with these arrests, these crimes continue to be committed. The more recent reports appear to be perpetrated by different subjects, as the "tags" are different, indicating different people may be responsible. Anyone with information on this crime or any other crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 431-1199 or in Maine at 439-1199.
