Construction Work to Begin on Daniel Street

Utility construction work on Daniel Street will continue for the next few weeks. Unitil, the gas company will be on-site replacing mains from Chapel to Market with work hours of 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the next two weeks. Meanwhile, the Portsmouth Water Department will continue to work in the Wright Ave Parking Lot, in front of the Connie Bean and under the Scott Ave Bridge near Harborplace condominium. Parking may be limited within the construction area during this time. Motorists are urged to seek alternative routes to avoid traffic delays in the area. Uniformed police officers or flaggers will direct traffic in the construction zone during work hours.

PORTSMOUTH, NH - Construction work on Daniel Street will begin this upcoming Monday, March 11, 2013. The gas company will be on-site replacing mains beginning Monday with work hours of 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the next four weeks. Work will begin near the Wright Ave Parking Lot and then proceed toward Market Square. Parking may be limited within the construction area during this time. Motorists are urged to seek alternative routes to avoid traffic delays in the area. Uniformed police officers will direct traffic in the construction zone during work hours.


The Department of Public Works would also like to inform the City residents and business owners that the water department will begin its work replacing mains starting Monday, March 18, 2013. Work will begin near the bridge area and end in the Wright Parking Lot and on Daniel Street in front of the Connie Bean building. The water work is expected to last 2 weeks.
