Holiday Parade 2011
The 2011 Portsmouth Illuminated Holiday Parade and Downtown Tree Lighting will be Saturday, December 3.
This year’s theme is “A Caring Christmas” celebrating the work of non-profits. Parade participants and attendees are encouraged to bring food items for a Food Drive benefitting local organizations. For a list of suggested items, click here. Volunteers will push shopping carts along the parade route to collect your donations
The Tree Lighting ceremony begins at 5 p.m. in Market Square with music from the Portsmouth Middle School Band, concluding at 5:30 p.m. with the official tree lighting. The Holiday Parade begins at 6 p.m. from Plaza 800 and travels a route through downtown to the South Mill Pond parking lot. To see the route, click here.
Only vendors holding a City of Portsmouth license will be allowed, and each individual vendor must display his or her own license.
We cannot accept any more floats into the parade at this time. If you have a walking unit or vehicle that you would like considered, call 610-7281 to see if there is still room.
