City of Portsmouth Conducts Web-based Opinion Survey for Master Plan

The latest community participation element in the community-wide effort to update the City's Master Plan is a web-based opinion survey. The Portsmouth Planning Board invites all Portsmouth residents to complete the survey, which may take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Residents received invitations to complete the survey in the mail. Residents who are unable to access the Internet from home are encouraged to use the free internet access at the Portsmouth Public Library.

The survey may currently be accessed by visiting the City's web site home page at www.cityofportsmouth.com. Click on "2003 Portsmouth Master Plan Community Survey". All residents are invited to complete the survey any time up through November 21st.

The survey, which is focused on land use and transportation issues, is just one of many methods being used by the Planning Board to gather public input into the master planning process. The master plan will be a key policy document for community leaders to use in making well-informed decisions about many vital local issues.

The survey represents a collaboration between the Portsmouth Planning and Community Development Departments and the Rockingham Planning Commission.

For additional information, contact Portsmouth Community Development Director Cindy Hayden at 431-2006, ext. 218.
