Kill A Watt Monitors Available to Be Checked Out
Kill A Watt Monitor

Are you wondering how much energy that large-screen TV uses? Is it really worth it to unplug the toaster before you leave the house? How can you accurately monitor your energy usage in order to save money this winter?

Just the Facts
  • It's easy to use and comes with instructions
  • The Kill a Watt can be checked out for 2 weeks
  • If the Kill a Watt is checked out, you can put a hold on it just like a book

The Portsmouth Public Library has two “Kill A Watt” Electricity Usage Monitors available for checkout at the Information Desk on the 2nd floor. These easy-to-use devices will help you reduce your energy costs and identify any electrical appliances in your home that you may want to unplug when not in use.

These devices were purchased to support the City of Portsmouth’s initiative to reduce the city’s carbon footprint. As part of the New England Carbon Challenge, Portsmouth has challenged Keene to a friendly competition – which city is more committed to reducing their energy usage?

Want to take the challenge? Go to www.cityofportsmouth.com or stop by the Portsmouth Public Library’s 2nd floor Information Desk where a few minutes of your time can make a world of difference. The library is located at 175 Parrott Avenue next to the Middle School. For more information call 603-766-1721.
