* The State of New Hampshire has adopted the 2006 editions of the International Building, Residential, Plumbing and Mechanical Codes, and the 2003 Edition of NFPA 101, as mandatory minimum codes. Therefore these new editions supersede the locally adopted earlier editions. Please use the 2006 editions of the iCodes for new construction designs. The City of Portsmouth will be formally adopting the 2006 editions of these codes (with amendments) along with the 2006 International Fire Code, 2003 Life Safety Code (NFPA 101-03), 2006 National Fuel Gas Code (NFPA 54-06), and the 2008 National Electric Code (NFPA 70-08), in 2008.
