Copies of these documents and their Portsmouth Amendments, are available at the Building Inspection Department, 3rd floor, Portsmouth City Hall.

* The State of New Hampshire has adopted the 2009 editions of the International Building, Residential, Plumbing and Mechanical Codes, and the 2009 Edition of NFPA 101, as mandatory minimum codes. Therefore these new editions supersede the locally adopted earlier editions. Please use the 2009 editions of the iCodes for new construction designs. One must also compare the locally adopted 2006 amendments with the 2009 text to determine the stricter requirement. The City of Portsmouth will be formally adopting the 2009 editions of these codes (with amendments) in the near future.
