Medical Reserve Corps
Become a local hero today, join the MRC!
The Medical Reserve Corps consists of a group of local volunteers (both medical and non-medical) who support their communities during large scale emergencies such as natural disasters, pandemics, and public health crises. During an emergency or public health event, an MRC Unit will be activated to assist with mass dispensing of medication, administration of vaccinations, oversight of medical shelters, and oversight/staffing of acute care centers. All MRC volunteers will receive training with regards to incident command structure, disaster skills, and other training deemed necessary.
MRC members may also be called upon to assist at flu clinics, health fairs, health education campaigns, and other community-wide public health initiatives. The span of volunteers is quite vast and includes physicians, physician assistants, nurses, EMTs, pharmacists, dentists, medical assistants, veterinarians, epidemiologists, language interpreters, chaplains, legal advisors, office workers, HAM radio operators, mental health professionals, health care administrators, etc.
