Summer Event Food Permits

If you are a food vendor planning on hosting or participating in a summer event, you must apply for a Temporary Food Permit. Temporary food permits must be event-related and there must be an Event Coordinator who assumes overall responsibility for the event. If you are currently licensed with the City of Portsmouth as a year round Mobile Vendor and will be vending from that mobile for an event, you do not need any additional license. Please note obtaining a Mobile permit is a different process than Temporary Events. Please call the Health Department at 610-7273 if you are interested in applying for a Mobile permit.

Due to processing time, applications received after the two week deadline may not be processed. The Health Department personnel will accept no applications or monies in the field.
