Crescent Way Streetscape Improvement Project Meeting Thursday, January 8 at 7:00 p.m
The City of Portsmouth invites residents to attend an informational public meeting for the Preble Way - Crescent Way Streetscape Improvement Project in Atlantic Heights. The meeting will be held on Thursday, January 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Recreation Room, Atlantic Heights Senior Development, 40 Bedford Way. The recreation room is located in the basement and attendees may enter through the door at the rear of the building. Residents are urged to attend.
The City has contracted with CLD Consulting Engineers of York, Maine to provide engineering and design services for the Preble Way-Crescent Way project. At this meeting, City staff and CLD Consulting Engineers will present a project overview and timetable, work with residents to identify any specific concerns they may have, and answer questions.
Previously, the City has completed streetscape improvements on Kearsarge Way, Falkland Place and a portion of Ranger Way. The second phase of streetscape improvements was just completed on Saratoga Way at a cost of approximately $300,000.
Preble Way and Crescent Way are the next streets to be improved, and the engineering/design phase will take place this winter and spring. These improvements will be carried out in phases; sufficient funding has not yet been allocated to complete improvements along the entire length of Preble Way and Crescent Way.
This project is funded through $245,000 from Portsmouth's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
For more information on the upcoming meeting, please contact Cindy Hayden, Community Development Director, at 431-2006 ext. 218.
