Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) are
federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
that are distributed to communities for projects which ensure decent
housing, a safe environment, and economic opportunity.

CDBG projects primarily assist people who
earn low and moderate incomes and/or low and moderate income neighborhoods
of the City.

- Repair and rehabilitation of homes.
- Affordable housing initiatives.
- Accessibility modifications to homes,
buildings, and public sidewalks.
- Loans and technical assistance to local
businesses to create and retain jobs.
- Grants to non-profit public service
agencies
that assist people or low or moderate income.
- Improvements to sidewalks, playgrounds,
parks,
and sewer/water facilities located in low and
moderate income neighborhoods.
- Special planning, feasibility, or design
studies.
