Reference: Additional Reward for Information on Commercial Fishing Vessel Thefts
The Portsmouth Police Department and Seacoast Crime Stoppers is requesting the public’s assistance in information leading to an arrest and property recovery in the July 22, 2009 thefts from commercial fishing boats docked at the State Pier, Peirce Island. Thousands of dollars worth of electronic equipment and tools were stolen from several boats overnight. The New Hampshire Commercial Fisherman’s Association has also prepared additional reward funds above and beyond that of Crime Stoppers, which can be up to $1,000. Local fisherman were deeply affected by these losses and are still struggling with the economic aftermath of replacing very expensive equipment and dealing with lost fishing time in the prime of the fishing season. We are asking anyone with information to contact Det. Christopher Roth at (603)610-7419 or anonymously through Seacoast Crime Stoppers at (603)431-1199 or on line through www.seacoastcrimestoppers.org.
