Reference: 8-4-06 - Graffiti Arrest
On 8-4-06 Matthew T. Bennet (10-16-88) of 73 Grand Ave., Manchester surrendered himself on a warrant initiated by the Portsmouth Police Department. Bennet is charged with two counts of Criminal Mischief. On 7-25-06 a stop sign owned by the City of Portsmouth and playground equipment at one of the elementary schools was spray painted.
Thanks to information provided by a vigilant citizen police detectives were able to identify Bennet as the perpetrator.
Bennet was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the Portsmouth District Court for arraignment on 8-21-06. Each offense is a "B" misdemeanor and carries a maximum penalty fine of a $2,000 and restitution.
