Reference:   DWI Patrols during the holiday season

Starting this weekend and continuing throughout the holiday season the Portsmouth Police will have multiple patrol officers dedicated to DWI enforcement.  The initiative is funded by money received from a fine paid by Fat Belly’s after they were convicted of Prohibited Sales of Alcohol for serving alcohol to an intoxicated patron.

Please use extra caution while driving during the holiday season. Many people are out celebrating and there are additional cars on the road as people shop. 

One drunk driver can ruin the lives of dozens of people. This holiday season, please don’t drink and drive. Take a cab, use a designated driver, or celebrate at home.

The Portsmouth Police Department wants to wish everybody a happy and safe holiday season.
