The Portsmouth Police Department will be honoring their fallen officers in two memorial services on Monday, May 26th, 2008.
The service will consist of a prayer by the Portsmouth Police Department’s Chaplain, Father Angelo Pappas, followed by a calling of the roll of Full Time Officers and Auxiliary Officers who have served the City of Portsmouth. The Portsmouth Police Department’s Honor Guard will provide a 21 gun solute. Firefighter Ted Blood will play taps and Bagpiper Auxiliary Officer Pat Boyle will be playing Amazing Grace.
The first service will take place at the Calvary Cemetery on Greenland Road at 6:00 PM and the second service will take place at the South Street Cemetery at 6:30 PM.
The public is invited to honor the Portsmouth Police Department’s Officers by attending this solemn ceremony.
