How do I find the Zinio for Libraries app for devices other than iPad or Android?

Zinio for Libraries apps are currently only available for iPad and Android. However Zinio magazine content can also be accessed by the commercial Zinio.com app.  The Zinio for Libraries app should be released for iPhone and Kindle Fire HD/HDX users later this Spring.

For the iPhone, you can search for the Zinio app (not the Zinio for Libraries app) in the app store, or follow this link on your device.

The Kindle Fire HD/HDX app is not currently available through their app store, so you will be required to load the app from outside the app store. Follow this link on your device.

On a Windows Phone, you can search for the Zinio app (not the Zinio for Libraries app) in the store, or follow this link on your device (it may not be available for all phones).

On a Windows 8/8.1 tablet or computer, you can search for the Zinio app (not the Zinio for Libraries app) in the store, or follow this link on your device.

Because these apps have not optimized the enhanced relationship which exists between our new Zinio for Libraries app and your library’s Zinio magazine collection, it will be necessary for you to create a secondary account on www.zinio.com. This is a free account and is used simply to connect your identity to the titles you will be accessing through your library. Be sure to use the same email address when creating your zinio.com account that you enter when using the app.

Please note — the standard Zinio commercial app retains links to the zinio.com consumer site. Through those links, you may find content not offered to libraries or not available through your library’s Zinio collection, and content through those links requires an additional purchase. If you see magazine prices or are asked for credit card information, you have entered the consumer site. Return to your library’s collection to review their free content.

Can I read magazines on a public computer?

Yes – you can read magazines within your browser, including on our public computers.

Is Zinio a store? Do I need to pay for this service?

Zinio does sell magazines and subscriptions. You can use your zinio.com account and the commercial app to buy magazines if you like, but nothing you check out from our collection will cost you any money. Just be sure to start att rbdigital.com/portsmouthnh and use the Zinio for Libraries app.

Will I have to place a hold request for popular titles?

No. Unlike popular eBooks and digital audiobooks, multiple library users may check out the same issue at once.

How many magazines may I check out at a time?

You may check out as many as you like. There is no limit on the number of issues you can check out at any given time.

Do I have to return issues I've checked out? Will they expire before I'm done reading them?

No. You can hang on to the issues you've checked out for as long as you like and delete them from your zinio.com account when you're done. Here's how you can delete issues from your account:

Deleting Magazines in Zinio
  1. On a browser: Sign into your account. Click on My Collection, then click the small trash can and conifrm that you want to remove the title from your reading list.

  2. In the app: Tap edit in the upper right corner. Tap the X on each downloaded magazine you want to delete.

Can I get back issues? Can I request the next issue? Will I be subscribed to the title if I check out an issue?

Some titles do include back issues that you may check out from the "Back Issues Available" link under the title. However, you won't be able to request issues before they are published.
