Q. What is a reading buddy?
A. A good reader who reads with a younger kid in the Library.
Q. When is the reading buddy program?
A. Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 to 11 am.
It starts July 7th and ends July 25th.
Q. How old do I have to be to Reading Buddy?
A. 10 years or older
Q. How old are the kids I will read to?
A. Ages 2 to 7 (approximately)
Q. How many kids do I read with?
A. One at a time, ideally. It is a “drop-in” program, so we never know how many kids will show up. If we don’t have enough readers on hand, you might have more than one buddy.
Q. Can I be a Reading Buddy and do the Summer Reading Program?
A. Yes, your Reading Buddy time counts for you, too.
Q. Do I have to volunteer every morning?
A. No. You may participate for one day or several days; for one week or several weeks. On any day you participate, you are expected to be here from 9:45 to 11:15.
