Alzheimerís and Other Dementias
Tuesday September 9 | 6 PM


Portsmouth Senior Services and Extended Family Care will co-sponsor this information session about Alzheimer's and other dementias.

Dr. Juergen H. Bludau, MD, of the Elliot Memory & Mobility Center, will talk about the latest research on Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, including current knowledge about prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Bludau is a board-certified, Harvard fellowship-trained geriatrician, and the author of Aging, But Never Old: The Realities, Myths, and Misrepresentations of the Anti-Aging Movement and the co-author of Alzheimerís Disease in the Biographies of Disease series.

A Kidís Perspective on her Elderly Parents

Join author Pamela Carey as she discusses the challenges faced in caring for one's aging parents. The author of Elderly Parents With All Their Marbles: A Survival Guide for the Kids, Carey holds a B.A. from Colby College and an M.A. from Columbia University Teachers College.

A former information director for the Delaware Dept. of Education, she taught in Connecticut, Georgia and Maine. She has also published a book about her two sons, called Minor League Mom: A Mother's Journey Through the Red Sox Farm Teams.
